During your safari or vacation in Tanzania you may select between different options for your accommodations (tented camps, lodges or camping) depending on preference and budget. Accommodations are located either inside or outside the park.
Food
Tanzania is a country rich in fruits and vegetables; it is our goal to show you Tanzanian culture through food during your safari. On the safari meal offerings typically include pasta or rice, as well as lamb, chicken, pork, fish or beef. Don't miss the delicious and freshly prepared soups in the evening – they are prepared with care and often are made from traditional family recipes. Breakfast usually consists of eggs, bacon and sausages, but there are also cookies, toast and jam.
Safari Accommodations
There are several accommodation options during the safari spanning from the most luxurious to the most basic. We classify the accommodation offerings in the lodge and tented camps into three standard categories: Standard, Plus and Luxury. For the more adventurous there is a camping safari with mobile tents. Our advice is a mix of lodges and tented camps inside the parks or in a strategic position for your safari.
Tented Camps
The tented camps have permanent tents as big as a hotel room with an attached bathroom and are furnished with a proper bed, bedside tables, coffee table and chairs. The hot water for the shower is usually brought "on demand." There is electricity but appliances such as hairdryers are not supported. The evenings are enjoyable while gathered around a bonfire, allowing you the perfect time to relax and tell stories about your animal sightings. Lodges
The lodge rooms have masonry, restaurant and reception - similar to hotels that we all know - often with a garden and a pool. Lodge accommodation are the choice recommended for guests who prefer more of the comforts of home. Lodges offer WiFi and also electricity at night.
Camping with Mobile Tents
For the most adventurous safari guests, the camping safari is the best way to connect with the outdoors. Granted, it is a bit rough and you have to be used to it, we use safari tents high enough to be able to stand in. The tents have mattresses, tables and chairs, but guests need to bring their own sleeping bag. All campsites have showers and toilets, but at some campsites there is no hot water or electricity. Equipment
Equipment provided as a courtesy includes: mineral water and soft drinks, refrigerator, binoculars, an inverter to charge batteries while underway on photo safaris (connected to the Jeep). Recommended equipment guests should bring: an adapter plug (UK type), a flashlight for camping while on the safari with mobile tents.
