Savannah Explorers

Where the beach meets the bush

Saadani National Park is a new park, former game reserve which is rich in wildlife with a nice landscape overlooking the Indian Ocean.

Description

As the only area with both wildlife and the beach along the Indian Ocean, Saadani is where the surf meets the turf. You can relax on the white, sandy beaches or take a swim the crystal clear waters. Whether you are like many Europeans who enjoy sunbathing or just want to witness the brilliant seashore by the palm trees, visitors are drawn to this locale for its calming effect.
In the waters, you may see Swahili fishers out during a bright, red sunrise with their nets or traditional dhow boats sailing along by the gusts of winds catching in their sails. However, it is the possibility of the sighting of an elephant on the beach or a lion quenching its thirst that makes the Saadani National Park very unique!
