BIG FIVE Safari in Tanzania

Day 1 - Welcome to Tanzania

On your arrival, our safari guide will pick you at Kilimanjaro airport and drive to Tarangire National Park (3 h driving) for dinner and overnight at the lodge/tented camp.

Day 2 - Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, we collect picnic lunches and start the game drive in Tarangire National Park. The name “Tarangire” comes from the Tara River and "Ngiri," the Swahili word meaning "warthog". Tarangire is famous for huge herds of elephants, African pythons, and big baobab trees. We return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 - Lake Manyara National Park

In early morning we experience a bush walk with Maasai guides in the Conservation Area next to Tarangire National Park.

Early in the morning before breakfasts, we experience a bush walk with Maasai guides in the Wildlife Management Area (WMA) next to Tarangire National Park. This area acts as a buffer zone between wildlife habitat and human settlements.
After breakfast, we collect picnic lunches and proceed to Lake Manyara National Park for the game drive. The Lake Manyara National Park is one of the parks with the highest biodiversity of flora and fauna. In an area of only 330 kilometers (of which 230 kilometers are occupied by the lake), there are five different ecosystems. The park is inhabited by over 380 types of birds and a big number of animal species, including elephants, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, leopards, lions, baboons, hippos, antelopes, warthogs, and so many others. Later in the evening, we drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 - Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we leave the lodge and proceed to Serengeti National Park passing Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On the way, we stop and visit a Maasai boma (village) and Olduvai Gorge Tanzania. Thereafter we proceed driving until the Serengeti entrance gate, here you can experience small hiking to the Naabi Hill where you will be able to have a panoramic view of the endless plain. In the afternoon you will experience a game drive in Serengeti with a picnic lunch.

The Serengeti National Park is the most famous protected area all over the world. It is renowned for its boundless lowlands, the migration of the wildebeests, the pride of lions and the other predators, such as cheetahs, leopards, jackals and crocodiles. The name “Serengeti” comes from the Maasai word which means “Endless Plain,” and this manifests by considering its environment.

Day 5 and Day 6 - Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we will spend 2 full days on game drive in Serengeti National Park with pic-nic lunch or hot lunch at the lodge. You cal also experience early morning game drive.

 

This park is one of the best safari destinations in the world for its endless plain and wildlife, typical of the sub-Saharan savannah.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: We'll choose the best camps for these nights in Serengeti depending on the season and the Great Migration for the best safari experience.

Day 7 - Serengeti and Ngorongoro

After breakfast, we spend most of the day in Serengeti for a game drive. In the afternoon we drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area for an overnight on the crater rim.

Day 8 - Ngorongoro Crater

Today the game drive is inside Ngorongoro Crater and the surrounding area. This is one of the most evocative landscapes in the world where we can enjoy the dormant volcano land and the nature that surrounds it. In the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, it's possible to see the "Big Five:" elephants, buffalos, lions, leopards, and rhinos. However, you should pay attention to the 30,000 animals and a great variety of birds in that area.

Day 9 - Natural Walk and transfer to airport

After breakfast depart for a nature walk with a local guide. Here you will get a chance to see and learn about the African trees and fruits like mango, avocado, pineapple, coffee, etc. and their significance use to society.

Later we transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your international flight back home or continue with your vacation to Zanzibar Island for beach relaxation.
