What Tanzania Governament says about coronavirus covid-19

Tanzania re-opened the airports on May 18, 2020 due to the few cases of coronavirus covid-19 and is waiting for tourists. On arrival there will be no 14 days mandatory quarantine, only the temperature will be measured, also a covid-19 certificate will not be required by local authorities.

 

Since January 2023 all the travellers and residents entering Tanzania mainland or Zanzibar are NOT REQUIRED to present a Covid-19 vaccination certificate or RT-PCR certificate or perform Rapid Antigen Test on arrival.

 

The Ministery of Natural Resources and Tourism has issued "NATIONAL STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF COVID-19 IN THE TOURISM BUSINESS OPERATIONS" in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus covid-19 around Tanzania in last June 2020. Those procedures are mandatory for all the tourism entities like tour operators, authorities and other service providers in tourism.

 

Coronavirus covid-19 cases in Tanzania

Up to now, Tanzania is considered as the safe destination for tourism regarding coronavirus covid-19 and is stamped "Travel Safe" destination by World Travel and Tourism Council. International airline companies fly in and out regularly. The first case was reported on 16th March 2020 and Tanzania had 509 cases in total. The good news is no new case reported in hospitals or in the streets since the end of April. It is not possible to hide such a thing as we all know how quickly this pandemic spreads. Moreover, here in Tanzania we live in warm weather, open air and no pollution. Thus the other factor limiting the speed for the spread of covid-19.
