Accommodations

Day 1 - Kilimanjaro Airoport and transfer to Arusha city

After your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, there will be a Savannah Explorers guide waiting to take you to Arusha where you will be able to rest in the hotel or simply have a small look around the city.

Day 2 - Arusha National Park

Let's ride to Arusha National Park! We will begin the day with photo opportunities by visiting the local fauna and the typical landscapes of mountain/park between Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro.

Day 3 - Tarangire National Park

Today the destination is Tarangire park where we will able to get in the hearth of the photo opportunities. The park takes name from the Tarangire river that divides it in half. It is famous for its herds of elephants, baobab trees and the African pythons that are able to climb on trees.

Day 4 - Lake Manyara Park

The safari continues with the tour of Lake Manyara National Park, one of the Tanzanian parks with the highest biodiversity. In a surface of only 330 kmqs, those 230 are occupied by the lake, is possible to meet five different ecosystems. The park is inhabited from over 380 types of birds and a big number of animal kind among which elephants, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, leopards, lions, baboons, hippos, antelopes, warthogs and so many others.

Day 5 - Lake Eyasi

At Lake Eyasi, we will meet the Hadzabes and will follow them during the hunting session. Then, we will visit the Datoga tribe whose inhabitants are specialized in the workmanship of the iron. During the visit of the Lake Eyasi, it is necessary to wear closed toe and comfortable shoes and long pants to avoid to get scratched by the bush. In addition, the ground is muddy due to the proximity of the lake.

Day 6 - Ngorongoro Crater

The safari will be dedicated to the exploration of the Ngorogoro Crater and the surrounding area. This is of one of the most evocative craters in the world where we can admire the dormant volcano and the nature that surrounds it. In the park, it will be possible to see the "Big Five:" elephants, buffalos, lions, leopards and rhinos. However, you should pay attention to the 30,000 animals and a great variety of birds in that area.

Day 7 - Serengeti National Park

Once we reach the entrance of the Serengeti National Park, you will have time to climb to the panoramic point near Naabi Gate where you will be able to take a wonderful photo opportunity. The picture-perfect moments will continue in Serengeti and we will reach the lodge or the tent-camp for dinner. The Serengeti National Park is the most famous park in Tanzania which is known all over the world. It is renowned for its boundless lowlands, the migration of the wildebeests, the pride of lions and the other raiders, such as hyenas, cheetahs, leopards, jackals and crocodiles. The name “Serengeti” means “Endless Plain,” which is evident based on the environment.

Day 8 and Day 9 - Serengeti National Park

This day will entirely be dedicated to the visit of endless lowlands of the Serengeti National Park where we can meet wild predators, such as leopards, cheetahs, and lions, but also, the great herbivores, like wildebeests. The Serengeti National Park is one of the main attractions of the whole Africa.

Day 10 - Lake Natron

We will say goodbye to the Serengeti with a last photo opportunity while we are moving toward Lake Natron. Along the road, we will stop in various panoramic points from where we can admire the Rift Valley, Ol Doinyo Lengai, Lake Natron and the surrounding panorama. If we have time, we will be able to trek to a waterfall for a refreshing bath. For this occasion, we recommend using rubber sandals during trekking and a bathing suit during the crossing water river. If we do not have any time for this excursion, we will do it the following day.

Day 11 - Lake Natron

Before breakfast, we will visit Lake Natron to observe the dawn to catch an unforgettable photo. We will see the flamingos and an unique panorama in the most absolute quiet. Pay attention to your shoes since the terrain is quite slippery and muddy. We will also visit a Maasai village to closely observe the Maasai culture and traditions. After lunch, we will reenter Arusha to capture some other photos.

Day 12 - Kilimanjaro National Park

For the visit to the Kilimanjaro National Park, Savannah Explorers will organize a trek to the Mandaras Hut. We will depart from the gate at 1,830 meters in proximity of Marangu village, a typical local village surrounded by plantations of bananas and coffee. We will proceed toward the Mandaras Huts (2,700 meters) always accompanied by a professional guide. Once we reach the destination, you can decide whether to continue to Maundi Crater or simply come back to the lodge. Also in this case, we will hurry the formalities for the access.

Day 13 - Kilimanjaro Airport and coming back to Home

The safari in Tanzania is ended, but before the going back home, you will able to spend some time in the city for some shopping.
