Arusha Nariona Park<\/a> encompasses different environments: plain, lakes and forest. It’s a mountain park different compared to the other parks in North Tanzania and full of animals like giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, antelopes, primates, flamingos and other birds.<\/p>\n

Walking safaris inside the park starts from Momela gate and accompanied by armed rangers you walk in the bush up to the waterfalls, this is a different experience compared to the jeep safari.<\/p>\n

In addition to the game drive and walking safari inside the park, we can enjoy Momela lakes by canoe accompanied by a local guide.<\/p>\n

Another peculiarity of Arusha National Park are the white and black colobus monkey hardly spotted in other northern circuit parks.<\/p>\n

The park is excellent all the year for bird watching, and especially between November and April when migratory birds from Europe and North Africa are present and the local birds have their\u00a0breeding plumage on display.\u00a0In the months of September and October many pink flamingos inhabit the Momela lakes, a sight not to be missed.<\/p>\n

Arusha National Park encloses Mount Meru, the fifth peak in Africa and the second highest peak mountain in Tanzania after the Kilimanjaro with its 4566 meters above sea level. Mount Meru Trekking<\/a> lasts 4 days, a real adventure in the\u00a0 nature.<\/p>\n

Location:<\/strong> Northern Tanzania, 35 km drive from Arusha town by good tarmac road up to the entrance gate called Ngongongare.<\/p>\n

Activities:<\/strong>\u00a0You will get a chance to experience a game drive in well organized road network East of Momela, including the lakes and the rim of the Ngurdoto Crater, walking safari with armed park ranger, canoeing in the Small Momela Lake, guided hiking through the montane forest (Max. 4 hours) and trekking to Mount Meru summit for either three or four days.<\/p>\n

Here is the map of the park with the most interesting sites like the Ngurdoto Crater, the Momela lakes and milestones for the climb to the summit of Mount Meru (4556 m.).<\/p>\n
